These types of policies can be wordy and difficult to follow but we've tried to keep it as straightforward as possible. The data we collect
We collect personal data from and about you when:
you log in with your Facebook or email details. When you do you grant permission to Facebook to share information with us (including your name, email, date of birth and location). Depending on your settings we may also have access to your Facebook friends and other information. If you remove us from your settings we'll no longer have access to this information.
you upload content or comment.
we have your permission to use your location (helping us tailor what you see to where you are).
we have your permission to access your device's contacts/address book (helping us let you know when you're friends register with us, where they're going and what they like).
other users write about you, link you to a venue or event, or share it with you.
We also collect anonymised aggregated data about how you use 3 Kinds of Ice and its content and services. This may include: technical information about the device you use (e.g. your device type, network, operating system and mobile browser); and how you use and interact with it (e.g. page views, journeys through it etc.).
Remember that unfortunately the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal data, we can't guarantee its security as it is transmitted to us so any transmission is at your risk. Once we receive it, we'll use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
You can ask at any point what data we hold about you by contacting us at email@example.com. This is your right under the Data Protection Act 1998. Where you make a request we're can charge £10 which helps cover our costs.
Where you've given permission, we collect your location every time you log in so that we can tailor what you see to where you are. Other services may also use location data. If you give your permission, or use these services, you consent to our and third parties' transmission, collection, maintenance, retention, processing and use of your location to provide them (and to improve location-based information and services). You can withdraw your consent by turning off this functionality through your device settings. Please note, where you do so we may still collect anonymised aggregate location data to improve services or help with security.
Where your data is stored
All data you provide or which we collect about you is stored on secure servers. It may be transferred to, and stored in, destinations outside the European Economic Area (EEA). It may also be processed by people outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. By submitting your personal data, or otherwise using 3 Kinds of Ice, you acknowledge and agree to this transfer, storing and/or processing. We'll take steps that are reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is stored and treated securely and in accordance with this policy.
What we use your data for
Clearly we'll use it to do the basics like provide services you request or register for, and to respond to your enquiries so we won't focus on these. Some of the other uses that might not be so obvious are using it to:
remember you so that you don't have to re-enter your details each time you log in.
provide, test, improve and update 3 Kinds of Ice, and to monitor its performance and effectiveness.
develop and test new products, services and features.
improve user experience and the quality of the content available.
provide content to other users (e.g. we'll share your comments and other content with them, which may also mean sharing other identifying details about you).
help us identify and fix defects or errors in our systems.
send you information about products or services that we provide that may be of interest to you (you'll be able to opt out of these at any time).
create anonymous, aggregated reports that we may provide to third parties (e.g. for statistics, ratings, analysis and reviews).
When you sign up and give us access to your contacts, we might: (i) send you an email to let you know when your contacts sign up for an account with us; or (ii) send them an email to let them know that you've signed up. It just helps to get people talking and sharing!
Who we can disclose your data to
We'll share your personal data with: (i) other users (e.g. we'll share your comments and other content which may mean sharing other identifying details about you); (ii) companies involved in the provision of the services you register for (e.g. companies may provide us with some services that may involve the hosting or maintenance of data that we control. They may have access to it to perform these services but they won't have any other rights to use it); (iii) your friends and contacts (e.g. we'll let them know where you've been, what you like etc.); (iv) Uber and City Mapper if you use their services through 3 Kinds of Ice (we'll simply let them know who you are, where you are, where you want to go); (v) companies who provide services to us or on our behalf (e.g. marketing companies when we use your content in our marketing).
We'll share your data when other users use the search feature and find you. You can toggle what information they see through your account settings.
Facebook will receive information about the use of your details (e.g. each time you log in to 3 Kinds of Ice using them they'll know). We also reserve the right to access and disclose individually identifiable data to comply with any applicable laws and lawful government requests, to enforce the terms of our agreement with you, to operate our systems properly, to protect both ourselves and our users, and where we are approached by a potential buyer of our business or assets, or in relation to any joint venture or business arrangement.
Third party sites
3 Kinds of Ice may contain links to third party sites. We don’t control them, we're not responsible for them, and we don't endorse them, their content, terms or privacy policies. You'll be responsible for any use you make of them and we don't accept any responsibility or liability for their privacy policies or for any collection of personal data that they may make. Please check their policies before submitting personal data to these sites.
cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we or third parties may store on your browser or device. We use them to identify and distinguish you from other users of our App, which helps to provide you with a better experience. The cookies we use are:

If you're a consumer these terms, their subject matter and formation, are governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction. However if you're resident in Northern Ireland you can bring proceedings in Northern Ireland. Equally if you're resident in Scotland, you can bring proceedings in Scotland.
If you're a business these terms, their subject matter and formation (and non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by English law. We both agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
